After numerous attempts to dry out footing for inspection, we finally had to resort to an engineered footing. Footing widened, lined with #57 gravel and poured.

After the structure fell to the ground, we took it apart and organized all the pieces in the yard. We then spent a couple of months completing the duplex on Queen. The house has been rebuilt from those pieces. A lot of new materials were required. The framing, for example, had to be all-new due to extensive damage. Siding and a number of architectural elements were used again. The experience has been most humbling for me. I have learned valuable lessons that I may not have learned any other way.
On January 19, we were deeps in the throws of working on the structure. At approximately 12:30 in the afternoon, the entire house suddenly started to shift in a rather unplanned way. I was the only person inside the home and was able to escape with no injuries. The home stood in varying states of leaning until she finally fell to the ground about a week later. See photos.
